A       DIFFERENT

WAY TO CREATE

ABOUT ALTERFORM

Alterform began with a question: what would happen if we approached creativity not as a skill or talent, but as a practice? When we approach creativity as a practice, where the purpose is to explore, learn, and grow—what begins as a practice becomes a way of being.

WE BECOME WHAT

WE           PRACTICE

WHY PRACTICE

Practice is more than something we do to become better or improve our ability in something. Every practice shapes who we become. The things we consistently repeat, and return to—shape our attention, our response, our sense of human agency, and ultimately, the way we engage with the world.

MORE      CREATING

LESS CONSUMING

HOW IT WORKS

Drawing from creative experiments, mindfulness, systems thinking, and reflective practice, this practice offers frameworks and exercises for working more intentionally with our attention, how to move through uncertainty, and change. Each movement represents a different way of recognizing and working with the moment we’re in. Together, they reflect the range of situations we move through in our creative work and in everyday life — from cultivating presence, knowing when to pause, and how to move through uncertainty. The practice helps you recognize what each moment is asking for and respond from a place of intention, rather than a state of reactivity. We step out of autopilot and engage more deeply with our creative work and our lives.
